Every other week, each classroom has Yoga with Ms. Jaime. The length of the class is based on the age of the group and how long they are able to focus. Ms. Jaime is great at making adjustments as needed.
Children are able to calm their bodies and learn ways to breathe. Yoga helps children with attention and behavioral regulation. They are able to build strength and flexibility. Children learn to balance, have better coordination and body awareness.
You can do Yoga at home by using Yoga Cards. Children can also do them on their own once they learn the postions. This is a great tool to use to help a child calm themselves.
Movement is an important activity for children. Doing simple movements with your child will keep their blood flowing and their bodies growing! If you child is getting whiny or out of sorts, getting them to move their bodies can reset those emotions and help them regulate.
Calming movements are a great way to start the day, before bath time or as a special activity with you. It’s also a great way for you to take care of yourself!
