Healthy Meals

HEALTHY MEALS

All God’s Children CEC is part of the USDA Food Program. In following the food program guidelines, we provide healthy meals and snacks for our children each day.

We provide breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Our menus rotate each month. This allows us to track any food reaction a child may experience and narrow it down for families.

For children with food allergies, we provide substitutions, such as lactose free milk, soy milk, vegetarian options, etc.

Healthy Menu
Our meals and snacks are all healthy and delicious!

This is a sample of what a typical menu looks like. We do not serve breaded meats such as chicken patties or nuggets. Fresh chicken and ground beef is used and all cooked in a crockpot. We use fresh fruits and vegetables for lunches and snacks. Children with vegetarian needs receive hummus, cheese, beans, etc. to take place of any meat product.

Staff model good eating habits for the children. If staff choose to eat fast food, they do not eat this in front of the children. They may eat with the children healthy options.

Children are given water to drink throughout the day and we limit our juice intake to only twice a week (100% juice only).

We do add new foods to our menus so allow children to widen their horizons. Cauliflower, hummus, celery, bell peppers and plums are a few of the foods that many children have not tried before.

Our families have access to our menus, located in the hall by the kitchen as well in eat classroom. In the Tadpoles daily report our families receive at check out each day, is a list of the meals provided that day. This allows families to discuss what the child ate and what they thought about it.

Eating healthy is important for parents and caregivers to model for children. Try a new food together! Take a trip to the grocery store and pick it our together. Don’t forget to tell us about your experience!
