
Our early preschool friends are our older 3’s and young 4’s. This group has mastered potty training and are ready for some bigger goals!

Coming to school and playing with friends is so much fun. But, everyone needs a break sometimes. Our alone center is for one or two friends to have an activity. Teachers teach the children to respect those that choose to have a break away from others and want to play alone or with just one friend.

In the art center, children aren’t just being creative. Early preschool where they are beginning to hold scissors correctly, holding crayons and markers with two fingers versus a fist and beginning to make more defined drawings.

The book area is a great place to chill out, rest and enjoy the many books available. In early preschool, Children have a variety of books as well as puppets, felt board/pieces and other story telling materials.

The block center is a fun place to build tall towers, a zoo for animals or even a house for the people. Children are able to work together to create all kinds of buildings and structures with a variety of building materials.
Wooden, cardboard and foam blocks allow children to experiment, work together and create amazing structures. A variety of accessories such as cars, people, trees and flowers, etc. are available for children to enhance their building experience.

Children enjoy the opportunity to made their own music using the wide selection of musical instruments. Through music children learn rhythm and beats, sing songs and these are all pre-reading skills.
Music books with songs children know well are also provided. They are able to use the books to follow along and sing some of their favorite songs.

In this activity area, children work to build on their fine motor and cognitive skills. Most activities in this center require children to use their fingers and pinching, rather than a grasp.
Our early preschoolers will find puzzles, pegs and boards, interlocking blocks, a variety of games and so much more.

The pretend play center is full of imagination and wonder. Children are able to pretend to be anything they want! The center is set up with home living furniture such as a kitchen set, table and chairs as well as a couch and high chair. Children transform this area into a vet clinic, a school, a salon, or even a birthday party!
It is in this area children act of real life skills, mimic things they see or experience. Teachers are able to guide children by giving suggestions on how to enhance their play.

Children love to explore in the science center. They are able to interact with our classroom pets, plants and other real nature items. Our light board allows them to experiment with lights and shadows as well as creating images.
Math skills are built here through measuring and estimating using scales, rulers and measuring tapes. Children learn to pattern and sequence using colorful pieces and following cards or creating their own.

What a fun center! Here children are able to explore different sensory materials such as water, grass, bird seed, sand and many other fund things. Tools such as measuring cups and spoons, shovels, bowls, cars, babies, rakes and other miscellaneous items allow children to experiment with weight, floating/sinking, cause and effect and so much more!
